Motion by Commissioner Deemer and seconded by Commissioner Bawden to amend Item #21 of <br />the proposed Findings of Fact to indicate that the proposed use will be consistent with the intent <br />and purposes of Chapter 170.013D of the City Code. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Vice-Chairman Hendriksen, Commissioners LaDue, Bawden, <br />Deemer, Terry and Thorud. Voting No: None. Absent: Chairman Zimmerman. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Deemer and seconded by Commissioner Bawden to recommend that <br />City Council adopt the Findings of Fact as amended relating to Mr. Haigh's request for a <br />conditional use permit. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Vice-Chairman Hendriksen, Commissioners LaDue, Bawden, <br />Deemer, Terry and Thorud. Voting No: None. Absent: Chairman Zimmerman. <br /> <br />The Commission proceeded to review the proposed conditional use permit. The consensus of the <br />Commission was to set hours of operation from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. seven days per week. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Bawden and seconded by Commissioner Deemer to amend Item #8 of <br />the proposed conditional use permit for an expiration date of December 31, 1993. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Absent: Chairman Zimmerman. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Deemer and seconded by Commissioner Bawden to recommend that <br />City Council approve Mr. Steven Haigh's request for a conditional use permit for a home <br />occupation at 14151 Geranium Street N.W. <br /> <br />Further Discussion. Ms. Frolik noted that home occupation permits are issued to the property <br />owner and are not transferable. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Absent: Chairman Zimmerman. <br /> <br />Case 4/ 5: Proposed Zoning Ordinance Amendment. <br /> <br />Commissioner Deemer recalled that on October 22, 1990, the Planning and Zoning Commission <br />reviewed the proposed zoning ordinance amendments to establish regulations for adult uses and <br />made a recommendation to modify the proposed zoning ordinance amendment with respect to <br />permitted exterior storage uses. Commissioner Deemer reported that there has been some <br />confusion as to the modification recommended by the Commission and it is necessary to clarify <br />and restate same. <br /> <br />The consensus of the Commission was that its proposed modification to the zoning ordinance <br />amendment was that outdoor storage as an accessory use should be permitted and outdoor storage <br />as a principal use should require a conditional use permit. These modifications should apply to the <br />industrial zone, the rural industrial zone and the business warehouse district. <br /> <br />Commissioner Deemer noted that the proposed zoning ordinance amendment also transfers the <br />Board of Adjustment authority to the City Council.
