Mr. Otto recommended that the Park Commission waive the park dedication of this split
due to the fact that the receiving tower will also benefit the City.

Motion by Chairman Hetland and seconded by Commissioner Roselle to waive the park
dedication for Autumn Heights 2nd Addition.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Hetland, Commissioners Rustad, Lokker, Prall,
and Roselle. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Johnson.

Case #6 Additional park lend dedication for Trott Brook Ridge.

Merland Otto recalled that last fall the Park and Recreation Commission accepted land
dedication along Trott Brook Creek to satisfy park dedication requirements for the
proposed Trott Brook Ridge plat. Since that time the developer has determined that is is
necessary for him to reduce the size of the lot in which he intends to build in order to
accommodate financing. To do so, the developer has proposed to donate and dedicate
additional land in Trott Brook Ridge for park purposes. Mr. Otto noted that the only
access to the additional parcel proposed to be donated is by way of the trail. Mr. Otto also
stated that by accepting the additional park land, the City would not incur any extra
expenses.

Motion by Commissioner Roselle and seconded by Commissioner Rustad to accept the
additional park land dedication for Trott Brook Ridge as proposed in the transmittal from
Dean Helgeson to the City dated March 13, 1990.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Hetland, Commissioners Rustad, Lokker, Prall,
and Roselle. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Johnson.

Commissioner Roselle requested that the Commission have Bruce Bacon inspect the
property to assess the condition of the trees and surrounding area.

Case #4 Name park in Sortebero's 6th Addition.

Motion by Commissioner Roselle and seconded by Chairman Hetland to table this issue
until the next meeting to give the Commission members time to review some possible
names for the park.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Hetland, Commissioners Rustad, Lokker, Prall,
and Roselle. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Johnson.

Case #5 Approve Official Parks and Trails map.

Merland Otto recommended that the Commission take action to formally adopt the parks
and trails map under which they are currently operating. Mr. Otto also noted that the
trail map will show existing and future parks and trails needs, noting that the urban
area does not have sufficient parks facility needs.

Motion by Commissioner Roselle and seconded by Commissioner Prall that prior to
taking action to adopt an official parks and trails map, City Staff research the possibility
of acquiring additional park land in the urban area and the expansion of Central Park.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Hetland, Commissioners Rustad, Lokker, Prall,
and Roselle. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Johnson.

PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION / MARCH 15, 1990
PAGE 3 OF 4
