PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br />PUBLIC HEARING <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Planning and Zoning Commission conducted a public hearing on Tuesday, <br />October 3, 1989 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, <br />Minnesota regarding Allen Sorteberg's request for preliminary plat approval of Sorteberg's <br />6th Addition. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mr. Gerald Zimmerman, Chairman <br />Mr. Terry Hendriksen <br />Mr. Charles LaDue <br />Mr. David Bawden <br />Mr. Michael Terry <br />Mr. Ben Deemer <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Community Development Director Mark Banwart <br /> <br />Members Absent: Mr. Roy Shumway <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairman Zimmerman called the public hearing to order at 7:47 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />David Ash - 17512 Rabbit Street N.W. - Stated that he purchased his property on Rabbit <br />Street because it is a cul-de-sac; he never checked but assumed it would remain a cul-de- <br />sac; he is opposed to Rabbit Street being extended to access Sorteberg's 6th Addition. <br /> <br />Chairman Zimmerman stated that in the interest of orderly land development, plats were <br />developed with streets continued to property boundaries to provide the opportunity for <br />through streets into adjacent properties as they develop. <br /> <br />David Ash - Inquired if the development of through streets is a City policy. <br /> <br />Commissioner Deemer stated that some of the cul-de-sacs in Ramsey were designed as <br />temporary with provisions for the extension of them into adjacent properties as they <br />develop. <br /> <br />Jim Acers - 8600 176th Avenue N.W. - Stated that he questions the limits of the subject <br />area with respect to the number of drainfields and septic systems; inquired if there are any <br />plans to bring sewer and water into the area. <br /> <br />Chairman Zimmerman stated that there is no chance of sewer and water being brought to <br />the subject area for another 30-40 years. <br /> <br />Commissioner Deemer stated that if septic systems are updated to current code as they fail, <br />there is no saturation point for on-site systems in the subject area. <br /> <br />Jim Acers - Inquired as to why there is not a saturation point with respect to on-site <br />systems and if not, why. <br /> <br />Planning and Zoning Commission Public Hearing/October 3, 1989 <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
