Elk River Tennis Association <br /> P.O. Box 14, ELK RIVER, MINNESOTA 553 30 <br /> <br />Tennis lessons are being offered this summer through Community Education <br />and over 40 children participate. <br /> <br />According to the Elk River Chamber of Commerce, Elk River is growing by <br />at least 1,000 people per year. We hope to work to help meet the <br />recreational needs of our community through youth programs. <br /> <br /> III. WHY SHOULD THE CITY OF RAMSEY CONTRIBUTE TO THE ERTA? <br /> <br />The ERTA believes tennis should be affordable for everyone. <br /> <br />Tennis courts are low maintenance recreational areas. Tennis is a life- <br />time sport and quality instruction is essential for success. <br /> <br />ERTA is asking all townships and cities with students attending District <br />728 to contribute to our association for quality tennis programs. <br /> <br />IV. CONCLUSION <br /> <br />We are asking for a contribution from the City of Ramsey to help us <br />continue programs for District 728 youth. <br /> <br />Our goal for this year is to raise $20,000 to improve facilities and <br />programs. We are asking'you for $3,000 for these needs (program needs <br />only). <br /> <br />ERTA would like to contribute to Ramsey's programs by: <br /> <br />-Inviting to ERTA Clinics <br /> <br />- Providing USTA training for instructors <br /> <br />-Helping Ramsey find qualified tennis instructors for all levels. <br /> <br />-Providing USTA curriculums <br /> <br />-Training for instructors for the disabled. <br /> <br />These are the numbers of students attending District 728 from the City <br />of Ramsey, as requested: <br /> <br />- ~students ages '5 - 17 <br /> <br />-'673.students'3.und~r~.ageL21 <br /> <br />Member of <br /> <br /> <br />
