Day Captain - <br /> <br /> 2. <br /> <br /> 3. <br /> <br /> 4. <br /> <br /> 5. <br /> <br /> 6. <br /> <br /> 7. <br /> 8. <br /> 9. <br /> <br /> 10. <br /> <br />Fire Department 2 <br /> <br />Orientation of new firefighters to the station, its personnel, apparatus, <br />equipment, and standard operating procedures. <br />Maintain efficient communications with fellow members on department-related <br />matters. <br />Handle questions/suggestions and other department member's input in a timely <br />manner and per department policy. <br />Responsible for the safety and well-being of all firefighters under his/her <br />supervision. <br />Perform and aid in the performance of disciplinary actions as set forth per <br />department policy manual. <br />Enforce security of all information which is not open for communication. <br />Ensure that all details directed by the Fire Chief are carried out. <br />Settle all minor disputes and disagreements within the department in a timely, <br />fair, and just manner according to standard operating procedures. <br />Perform, along with the Fire Chief, a written and oral performance evaluation of <br />each member of the department on a yearly basis. <br /> <br />To respond to all alarms of fire and such other emergencies as possible. <br /> <br />1. Respond to fires and other emergencies as paged. <br /> <br />To monitor and assess the probationary firefighters' progress and development. <br /> <br />Responsible for keeping the Fire Chief aware of progress of <br />probationary firefighters'. <br />Provide training for the development of the probationary firefighter's. <br /> <br />To help supervise the training and instruction of the members of the department in all <br />subjects covered at drills. <br /> <br />Remain cognizant of department policies and standard operating procedures. <br />Responsible for the performance and conduct of the department. <br /> <br />Bo <br /> <br />Participate in community relations programs. <br /> <br />1. To ensure that good public relations are practiced by all firefighters under <br /> his/her supervision, both on and off emergency scenes. <br /> <br />F.
