CITY OF RAMSEY POSITION ANALYSIS <br /> <br />POSITION TITLE: Lieutenant <br />DEPARTMENT: Fire Department <br />POSITION TITLE OF <br /> <br />(2/90) <br /> <br />IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Captain <br /> <br />PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: <br /> <br />To provide first line supervision to firefighters to insure effective delivery of public safety <br />services consistent with Fire Department objectives of the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />C. <br /> <br />D. <br /> <br />E. <br /> <br />Effectively supervise firefighters during fire calls. <br /> <br />Assure records are accurately kept and submitted. <br /> <br />Assist firefighters in technical aspects of work and participates in training. <br /> <br />Participate in community relations programs. <br /> <br />Report to the Captain on all matters pertaining to the safe, efficient, and economical <br />operation of the Fire Department. <br /> <br />Perform related work as apparent or designed. <br /> <br />DAILY TASKS RELATED TO SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: <br /> <br />A. Effectively supervise firefighters during fire calls. <br /> <br />2. <br />3. <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />5. <br /> <br />6. <br /> <br />Serve as a working supervisor or fire ground commander. <br />Responsible for the enforcement of Department regulations and procedures. <br />When responding to emergency alarms, comply with all orders and instructions <br />as may be issued by superior officers. <br />Assign duties to firefighters under supervision based upon immediate fire ground <br />objectives. <br />Responsible for knowing streets, hydrants, buildings and fire protection systems <br />within department assignment. <br />Communicates firefighter input and recommendations to Captain. <br /> <br /> <br />
