1) Accept Mr. Olson's resignation as the Public Works Director. <br />2) Appoint Fire Chief Kapler to oversee the following divisions within Public Works on <br />an interim basis for up to 3-months: Building Maintenance, Parks, Streets, and Utilities. <br />3) Appoint City Engineer Himmer oversee the Engineering Division on an ongoing <br />basis. <br />4) Authorize staff to conduct an internal and/or external recruitment process to appoint a <br />qualified candidate to oversee the operations side of the Public Works Building <br />Maintenance, Parks, Streets, and the Utilities divisions. <br />5) Restructure the Public Works Department into two separate areas such as Engineering <br />will be led by City Engineer Himmer and the operations side of Public Works, including <br />Building Maintenance, Parks, Streets, and the Utilities divisions will be led by the <br />candidate promoted or hired during the recruitment process. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br />Councilmember , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor <br />thereof: <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />and the following abstained: <br />and the following were absent: <br />Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City <br />Council this the 22nd day of May 2012. <br />
