Case #8: 1990 Business Expo: <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley stated that in years past, the City has contributed towards the funding of the <br />Discover Ramsey Expos. This year, the Ramsey Economic Development Company is <br />requesting $2,000 to help pay for the advertising and promotion of the 1990 Expo. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Pearson and seconded by Councilmember Peterson to adopt <br />Resolution #90-02-049 appropriating Two Thousand Dollars ($2000.00) for the 1990 <br />Business Expo. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Mr. Hartley suggested that the Community Development Department <br />have a booth at the expo to offer information to the public relating to developing in <br />Ramsey. Councilmember Peterson stated that councilmembers should also spend some <br />time at the expo. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers DeLuca, Pearson, Cich <br />and Peterson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Councilmembers DeLuca and Peterson stated that there should be a map available at the <br />Anoka Area Chamber Expo and the Discover Ramsey Expo indicating items like parks, <br />thoroughfare plans, etc. <br /> <br />Case #9: Designate Use Of $500.00 Donations From Commercial <br /> Asphalt And Danny's Aluminum Processing: <br /> <br />Mr. Otto stated that the Park and Recreation Commission has recommended that the $500 <br />donations from Commercial Asphalt and Danny's Aluminum be used to facilitate a cost- <br />sharing feature in the City's grant application to DNR for a fishing pier in River's Bend <br />Park. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cich and seconded by Councilmember DeLuca to adopt <br />Resolution #90-02-050 designating use of Five Hundred Dollar ($500.00) donations from <br />Commercial Asphalt and Danny's Aluminum Processing to facilitate a cost-sharing feature <br />in the City's application for a fishing pier at River's Bend Park and to amend the 1990 <br />budget accordingly. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Mr. Otto stated that the application for a fishing pier grant is due <br />March 15 and a revised application will be brought to City Council for approval. Mayor <br />Reimann directed City Staff to send letters of appreciation to Danny's Aluminum and <br />Commercial Asphalt for their donations. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers DeLuca, Pearson, Cich <br />and Peterson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #10: 1990 Budget Amendment #1: <br /> <br />Sandra Ashley stated that all 1990 training costs for Public Works employees were <br />budgeted under the Public Works sub-function and the Public Works Supervisor is <br />requesting a budget amendment to decrease Public Works training and increase Park and <br />Recreation training in the amount of $55.00 to provide funding for employee attendance at <br />a shade tree seminar and certification for non-commercial pesticide application. <br /> <br />City Council/February 13, 1990 <br /> Page 10 of 12 <br /> <br /> <br />
