David Langseth noted that the representatives from the Vo- <br />Tech at the joint Airport Commission/City Council meeting also indicated that if Gateway was <br />improved, the educational facility would remain at Gateway. <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann called for a roll-call vote. <br /> <br />Councilmember Richard Cich - aye <br />Councilmember Stephen DeLuca - nay <br />Mayor Gary Reimann - nay <br />Councilmember Alan Pearson - abstained <br />Councilmember Kenneth Peterson - aye <br /> <br />Motion failed. <br /> <br />Councilmember Pearson reiterated that he would like additional information from those <br />communities that have a publicly owned airports regarding whether or not they are satisfied with <br />having such a facility in their cities. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Pearson and seconded by Councilmember DeLuca to table action on the <br />question of whether or not to proceed with the development of the airport pending receipt of <br />additional information. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Pearson, DeLuca, Cich, DeLuca <br />and Peterson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case//8: <br /> <br />Adopt Resolutions Approving Plans and Specifications and Ordering Advertisement <br />for Bids and Authorizing Right-of-Way Acquisition for Improvement Project//89- <br />15. <br /> <br />Mr. Raatikka stated that plans and specifications have been prepared for the construction of <br />sanitary sewer, water main, storm sewer and streets for Dolomite Street N.W. in Riverside West <br />and recommended approval of the plans and ordering bids. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember DeLuca and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to adopt Resolution <br />//90-06-193 Approving Plans and Specifications and Ordering Advertisement for Bids for <br />Improvement Project #89-15. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers DeLuca, Pearson, Cich, and <br />Peterson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Mr. Raatikka requested that City Council authorize acquisition of right-of-way for Improvement <br />Project #89-15. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember DeLuca and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to adopt Resolution <br />#90-06-194 Authorizing Right-of-Way Acquisition for Improvement Project #89-15. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Upon inquiry, Mr. Raatikka stated that a lift station has been designed which <br />will also handle the flow from the Swartzman property line west of Riverside West and the City <br />would be responsible for the electrical costs for operating that lift station. Mr. Raatikka noted that <br />the City of Anoka has a generator that the City could use to operate the pumps in the event there is <br />a power failure. Mr. Raatikka also noted that the City may be looking to acquire a generator in the <br />future when there are several lift stations in operation within the City.
