The City was contacted this week regarding two significant pieces of <br />property that are going on the market. The owner of the Country Crossing Mall, at the <br />Northwest corner of 167 and State Highway 47, is putting the property up for sale and it will be <br />available for $500,000. <br />Also, a representative of Al Pearson called and said the 49 acres of property he owns on the <br />north side of Highway 10, between the golf course and Legacy Christian Academy, is scheduled <br />to go to auction on June 29 Mr. Pearson currently owns 210 acres on both sides of Highway <br />10. <br />Update on City transportation issues. Representatives of Senator Klobuchar's office stopped <br />in this week with Elwyn Tinklynberg to get an update on City transportation issues. Mr. Travis <br />Talvitie, the Senator's Deputy Legislative Director and General Tim Cossalter, Outreach <br />Director indicated that it is still very uncertain whether there will be a transportation bill in <br />Congress this year. They encouraged the City to continue preparation of the Armstrong <br />interchange for funding opportunities as they might become available. Priorities for funding of <br />transportation projects will be based upon the State Transportation Improvement Plan (STIP), <br />while economic development funding would be more flexible. The Armstrong Interchange is <br />currently under consideration for the STIP. <br />Parking Ramp Revisions. MNDOT has rejected the City's request to remove the awning on the <br />North West side of the ramp and to utilize that money to construct a decorative sign. <br />Consequently, the awning will be part of the project and the City will need to reassess the <br />location, design, and expenditure in regard to the sign. This will be scheduled for a future <br />meeting. <br />High Water Closes Anoka County Launches along Mississippi River. Staff received a press . <br />release stating that the Anoka County Parks and Recreation Department has closed the public <br />boat launches at Mississippi West Park in Ramsey and Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park in Coon <br />Rapids due to dangerously high flow rates on the Mississippi River. Shortly after the press <br />release was received, an email was sent stating that the boat launch at Riverfront Regional Park <br />in Fridley on the Mississippi River is now closed due to dangerous water levels as well Attached <br />to the Weekly update is the Press Release relating to the closed launches. <br />
