Councilmember Elvig stated he would support more "teeth." <br />Senior Planner Gladhill explained the Fair Housing Act does come into play and, hopefully, <br />work at the Legislature will provide more avenues to handle these issues. <br />The consensus of the Council was that the draft is a good start to place pressure for action. <br />Senior Planner Gladhill indicated this item will be presented at the next regular Council meeting. <br />2.03: Street Light Installation Contract with Connexus Energy for Sunwood Drive <br />Realignment <br />This item was considered prior to Item 2.01. <br />3. MAYOR / COUNCIL / STAFF INPUT <br />4.01: City Engineer Interview Panel <br />Human Resources Representative Lasher asked whether a Council member should serve on the <br />interview panel for the City Engineer recruitment. <br />Councilmember Tossey, Personnel Committee Chair, stated it would not be appropriate for him <br />to serve on the interview panel because he is not familiar with engineering issues. <br />Human Resources Representative Lasher advised it is not typical to have a Council member <br />serve on the interview panel and only occurred with one prior recruitment, the Economic and <br />Development Manager position. <br />Councilmember Strommen suggested staff establish a policy when the Council should be <br />involved. <br />The consensus of the Council was that staff would comprise the interview panel for the City <br />Engineer recruitment. <br />5.
