CC Regular Session <br />Meeting Date: 07/24/2012 <br />By: Colleen Lasher, Administrative Services <br />Information <br />Title: <br />Report from the Personnel Committee - Meeting Date: July 10, 2012 <br />Background: <br />The Personnel Committee met on July 10, 2012 and discussed the following: <br />4. 14. <br />Case 1: Consider a Resolution to Authorize Staff Position/Wage Modifications Due to Organizational Changes <br />Case 2: Review of Recent Employee Exit Interviews <br />Notification: <br />Regarding the fourth recommendation listed below: The Personnel Committee agreed with staff's recommendation <br />and motioned that the Lieutenant position, currently occupied by Mr. Jeff Kate's, be re -titled to that of Captain, <br />effective July 1, 2012 at step 5 of the wage scale. Specifically, staff recommends the title of "Support Services <br />Captain", which, upon City Council approval, shall be Mr. Kate's' new title. The existing Captain will be referred to <br />as the "Patrol Captain". <br />Recommendation: <br />Case 1: The Personnel Committee recommended approval of resolution #12-07-XXX, to do the following: <br />Change the Senior Planner position, occupied by Tim Gladhill, to that of the Development Services Manager, <br />effective July 1, 2012 at step 2 of the wage scale. <br />Change the Human Resources Representative position, occupied by Colleen Lasher, to that of the Human Resources <br />Manager, effective July 1, 2012 at step 1 of the wage scale. <br />Change the Senior Accountant position, occupied by Denelle McAlpine, to that of the Assistant Finance Director, <br />effective July 1, 2012 at step 1 of the wage scale. <br />Change the Lieutenant position, occupied by Jeff Katers, to that of Captain, effective July 1, 2012 at step 5 of the <br />wage scale. Specifically, the recommended title is Support Services Captain. <br />Change the Associate Planner/Environmental Coordinator's pay scale to that of the Associate Planner at step 6 of <br />the wage scale. <br />Case 2: The recommendation was based on discussion related to the recent employee exit interviews and a focus <br />on departed employees' comments regarding internal communications. A work session will be scheduled to <br />discuss areas for improved internal communications. <br />Funding Source: <br />
