Case #12: Review Of The Number Of Off-Sale Liquor License~ Permitted <br /> In The. City Of R~msey: <br /> <br />Councilmember Reimann stated that he feels the City should continue the policy <br />recommended by the Ad Hoc Committee in 1981 -- one license per 5,000 <br />population. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox added that he would not be in favor of increasing the number <br />of off-sale liquor licenses until veins of traffic are generated that are <br />condusive to additional liquor stores. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to take no <br />action at this time to expand the number of off-sale liquor licenses available <br />in Ramsey. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Heitman, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />Reimann and Schlueter. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #13: Coalition Of Northern Metropolitan Communities~ <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley stated that Ramsey is one of the few cities that has not adopted a <br />resolution establishing a coalition of northern metro communities. Mr. Hartley <br />stated that he sees this coalition has having a great deal of impact in getting <br />the kind of transportation improvements needed in this area. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to adopt <br />Resolution #86-84 to authorize the Mayor and City Administrator to execute a <br />joint powers agreement to form a Coalition of Metropolitan Communities and to <br />provide a 1986 membership fee of $222.20. (Please refer to resolution file for <br />Resolution #86-84). <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Heitman, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />Reimann and Schlueter. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox inquired if the Mayor Heitman attended the May 7 meeting of <br />the Northern Mayors Association. <br /> <br />Mayor Heitman replied that he did not. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox noted that this City Council passed a motion requesting that <br />the Mayor see to it that Ramsey is represented at important meetings when his <br />attendance is not possible. <br /> <br />Mayor Heitman stated that inasmuch as Ramsey was not a member of the coaltion <br />at the time, he did not see it as being appropriate to attend. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox stated that whether or not Ramsey is represented at certain <br />meetings is not the Mayor's decision. <br /> <br />~ Scoping For Site "P" Environmental ImDact Statement: <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley stated that between now and July 1, the scoping for the <br />Environmental Impact Statement for determining whether Site P, Q or D are <br /> May 27, 1986 <br /> <br />Page 13 of 18 <br /> <br /> <br />
