Hartley stated that the letter also recommends that Metro Council delay any <br />further action and hearings until after remedial investigation is <br />completed. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Schlueter and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg <br />approving the draft letter to Metro Council regarding the Certificate of <br />Need. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox <br />and Schlueter. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley stated that a question has been raised as to whether or not <br />landfill funds or tipping fees can be used for a city-wide mailing <br />regarding the certificate of need issue. Landfill funds and tipping fees <br />are for landfill abatement. Mr. Hartley stated that based on past problems <br />in Ramsey with publications, etc., he feels it might not be a good practice <br />to advertise a particular viewpoint that may be interpreted as a political <br />position. <br /> <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL INPUT <br /> <br />Councilmember Schlueter inquired if Game Fair applied for a conditional use <br />permit this year. <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley replied that Game Fair was granted an on-going conditional use <br />permit; paying the cost of posting 'no parking' signs is a condition of the <br />permit. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember Cox to adjourn <br />the regular Council meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox and <br />Schlueter.
