3) Approve license applications. <br /> <br />4) Adopt Resolution #86-121 approving the monthly bills for August, 1986. <br /> <br />5) Adopt Resolution #86-122 for POST Board reimbursement. <br /> <br />Approve temporary 3.2 beer permit for Pheasants Forever Gun Shoot at the <br />St. ~thony Gun Cub on Sunday, September 21, 1986 from 12:00 noon to 6:00 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />7) Authorize annual renewal of computer hardware and software maintenance <br /> agreements. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Acting Mayor Reimann noted that 3 books were ordered for <br />the Building Inspection Department, 2 of which were identical, and questioned <br />why. Mr. Hartley replied that the books ordered are required to be on hand at <br />City Hall by City Code. Acting Mayor Reimann referred to a letter from <br />Deloitte, Haskins and Sells explaining why the audit costs were higher than <br />usual; directed that this subject be brought up at a Personnel Committee <br />meeting for discussion. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Acting Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, <br />Cox and $chlueter. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />COUNCIL BUSINESS <br /> <br />Appoint New Mayor: <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley stated he received one letter from Ms. Judith Grein recommending <br />Mr. Art Dussl for the position of mayor. <br /> <br />Council noted receipt of Judith Grein's letter. <br /> <br />Mr. Goodrich stated that Council shall appoint a successor to serve out the <br />remainder of Mr. Heitman's term; in the event of a tie vote, the acting mayor <br />shall make the choice. The Charter makes no specific mention as to when <br />Council shall appoint a successor but it does say that if there is more than <br />one year left in a term, a special election is required within 90 days to fill <br />the vacancy. Mr. Goodrich stated that on that basis, he is interpreting that <br />the Charter wants the vacancy filled within 90 days. <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Reimann inquired if anybody in the audience is interested in the <br />position.
