Recent years have
seen a noticeable increase in the numbers and frequency of their visits to our property. Whereas
they used to come through periodically during the course of a season, it is a rare day that they do
not come through now. Often they are spotted as many as three times from early morning to
dark. Mornings regularly show evidence of new tracks and new grazing.
One or two coming through has become groups of three to seven coming through. Multiple
deterrents have been applied with limited or short term success. It is not uncommon for bucks to
stand their ground as I attempt to chase them from the yard taking on a threatening posture.
Safety as well as property are at risk.
Neighbors feed or put out salt licks. There is no ordinance that I can locate prohibiting this. This
i
