This provided the Commission an opportunity to inspect and comment on
parks as a group and it afforded resident's access to the Commission on a neighborhood level.
On the few recent occasions of inclement weather, the Commission conducted the regular
meeting at 6:30 p.m. at Fire Station #2. The purpose of this case is to confirm the Commission's
desire for outdoor meetings in 2003 and, if so, what the locations will be.

Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos stated the City Council approved Central Parks' irrigation system
and in addition, Council asked the Park Commission if the Commission wanted the drinking
fountain near the entrance. He explained it would run around $2,000. He talked to the contractor
and was assured it would be done by May of this year.

Motion by Commissioner Shryock, seconded by Rolfe, to accept the outdoor meetings in 2003
and to have them at the following locations:

May
June
July
August
September
October

Sunfish Lake Park
Rivers Bend Park with City Council
Elmcrest Park
Woodland Green Park
Alpine Park
Central Park

And to invite and schedule a joint City Council meeting and park tour on June 12, 2003,
beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Johns, Commissioners Shryock, Rolfe, Lehman,
LaMere, Olds, and Ostrum. Voting No: None. Absent: None.

COMMISSION/STAFF INPUT

Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos noted they will have a Joint Planning and Park Commission
meeting Thursday of next week on the Tree Ordinance.

Park and Recreation Commission/March 13, 2003
Page 5 of 8
