Ms. Margaret Connelly, 16235 Kamacite Street, asked if the money set aside for a sidewalk was <br />for a new sidewalk or for the current sidewalk there. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos explained it would be for building it because he did not think it <br />would be fair to have residents pay for the sidewalk. <br /> <br />Ms. Connelly asked if they dedicate all of the money into the one park, does it affect the funding <br />on other parks. <br /> <br />Commissioner Ostrum explained that if there are needs that come up in other parks, they can <br />always shift the money around. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos stated there are <br />project is going to continue. He explained to <br />distributed to different parks. <br /> <br />already dedicated funds for Elmcrest so that <br />the residents how park dedication fees are <br /> <br />Ms. Julie H om, 6031 145th Lane, showed pictures of a park that she thought had inadequate <br />playground equipment and she thought it was not safe and asked if the equipment is checked <br />yearly. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos commented t hat t hey a re checked weekly during t he high u se <br />periods. <br /> <br />Ms. Horn stated she felt the play equipment is old and should be replaced. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos explained that they try to replace play equipment when needed in <br />different parks depending on the condition of them. <br /> <br />Ms. Horn commented that she thought the park would be good for the neighborhood. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos noted that they look at all the parks in the area and try to create a <br />balance in recreation. <br /> <br />Ms. Horn stated Central Park is the main park and she thought there should be a scoreboard at <br />this park. She thought Central park should be a showplace. <br /> <br />Commissioner Ostrum explained that he thought scoreboards are usually installed with funds <br />from the different athletic organizations. <br /> <br />Mr. Tim Yaily, 6121 145th Lane NW, asked the Commission to clarify where the sidewalk would <br />be and if it would need to be approved. <br /> <br />Chairperson Johns explained that because the trail was denied by the City Council, they tried to <br />set up a compromise and install a sidewalk instead.
