b) The hiring of two additional police officers <br /> <br />Councilmember Cich suggested that the necessary steps be set in motion to hire two <br />additional police officers as approved in the 1988 budget. <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann suggested that the hiring of two additional police officers be added to the <br />January 25, 1989 Personnel Committee agenda. <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann also directed that the status of hiring an additional public works <br />maintenance worker also be added to the January 25 Personnel Committee meeting <br />age~a. <br /> <br />c) Response to Citizen Input comment regarding ad for bids for airport construction <br /> <br />Mr. Otto stated that the notice in the Dodge Report regarding the construction of an <br />airport in Ramsey does not accurately reflect the conversation he had with the Dodge <br />staff. Typically, Dodge calls to see how projects are progressing and Mr. Otto stated that <br />he had indicated to Dodge that design or construction could begin in one year's time. <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann inquired as to the status of the airport project. <br /> <br />Mr. Otto replied that just following the Christmas holidays, FAA indicated that their <br />review of the environmental report on Gateway improvements should be complete in 30- <br />60 days. In the interim, the pre-application for funding is being prepared but will not <br />be considered until the enviroinmental review is complete. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Pearson and seconded by Councilmember Peterson to adjourn <br />the regular meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers DeLuca, Pearson, <br />Peterson and Cich.
