Approve license applications <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Reimann and seconded by Councilmember DeLuca to approve all license <br />applications contained in the agenda. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Councilmember Peterson requested that application #89-084 be <br />researched to verify it is not a business operating in a residential district. <br /> <br />Motion carried: Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers DeLuca, Pearson, <br />Peterson and Cich. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />COUNCIL BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #12: Purchase Of Polyphosphate Equipment For Municipal Water <br /> System: <br /> <br />Mr. Raatikka stated that the City has received numerous complaints on the quality of the <br />City's municipal water. Mr. Raatikka recommended the addition of a polyphosphate <br />equipment system to the municipal water system. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Pearson and seconded by Councilmember Peterson to adopt <br />Resolution #89-01-15 approving the purchase of polyphosphate equipment from Feed- <br />Rite Controls, Inc. at a cost of $1740. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Peterson, Pearson, <br />DeLuca and Cich. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL INPUT <br /> <br />a) Proposed no wake ordinance for Rum River <br /> <br />Mr. Raatikka stated that the Lower Rum River Water Management Organization has <br />revised the proposed ordinance for wake control on the Rum River by deleting all <br />references to boat horsepower and speed and adding language requiring that watercraft <br />be operated at speeds that will not create more than a minimum wake, restricting water <br />skiing from quiet water areas, with quiet water areas to be designated by each of the <br />affected cities. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember DeLuca and seconded by Councilmember Peterson to schedule a <br />public hearing for 7:30 p.m. on February 14, 1989 regarding the proposed ordinance <br />for wake control along the Rum River. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers DeLuca, Pearson, <br />Peterson and Cich. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />City Council/January 24, 1989 <br /> Page 14 of 15 <br /> <br /> <br />
