PROCEEDINGS OF CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, January 24, 1989 at <br />the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Gary Reimann <br />Councilmember Stephen F. DeLuca <br />Councilmember Alan Pearson <br />Councilmember Richard Cich <br />Councilmember Kenneth Peterson <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator David Hartley <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br />City Engineer Peter Raatikka <br />Community Development Director Mark Banwart <br />Merland Otto/Hakanson-Anderson Associates <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann called the regular City Council meeting to order at 7:02 p.m. and <br />Councilmember Cich led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />REVIEW ON-SALE LIQUOR LICENSE ORDINANCE WITH CITY STAFF <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich proceeded to review the proposed on-sale liquor license ordinace <br />with City Council. Mr. Goodrich noted that major changes to the ordinance include <br />making licenses available to bowling centers and exclusive liquor stores. <br /> <br />After a thorough review, Council consensus was for the following: <br /> <br />Retaining bowling centers with a market valuation of at least $200,000 <br />as an eligible category for on-sale and Sunday liquor licenses. <br /> <br />Amending the definition of restaurants by deleting the requirements for <br />40% food sales and 2500 square foot minimum area and incorporating <br />language similar to that in State statutes along with requiring capability <br />for indoor seating for a minimum of 30 persons and a minimum facility <br />valuation of $200,000. <br /> <br />Removing exclusive liquor stores as eligible for on-sale and Sunday <br />liquor licenses. <br /> <br />City Council/January 24, 1989 <br /> Page 3 of 15 <br /> <br /> <br />
