Discussion on the Ramsey/Dayton Mississippi River Bridge: Halsey pointed out <br />that the Cities of Anoka and Coon Rapids previously discussed another river <br />crossing and felt they would probably prefer to have one further east of the <br />existing Anoka/Champlin bridge what with Riverdale coming in. Mann, Cotten, and <br />Weaver encouraged the City of Ramsey to pursue these tong-range river crossing <br />plans, particularly if they have available land that they can freeze on each side <br />of the river. Weaver pointed out that the Anoka/Coon Rapids preferred crossing <br />in the Reisling area probably won't happen due to a lack of agreement between the <br />two cities involved. <br /> <br />The' Rum River Bridge crossing was discussed. Environmental concerns are being <br />investigated by the Army Corps of Engineers. Ramsey's proposed handicapped <br />accessibility park has been put on hold pending this environmental review. <br /> <br />Anoka's North Park area was discussed. <br />designs on it for a regional park. <br /> <br />Halsey reported that the county has <br /> <br />In s~nmary, Hartley stated that they will be getting back to this group with <br />further information relating to the McKinley issue and possibly on the propos~ <br />water system connections. <br /> <br />Hartley urged those present to stay in touch with State Legislators who are <br />considering legislation which will affect transportation, fiscal disparities, and <br />tax increment financing. The northern cities must work together on these issues, <br />as well as others, if there is to be any hope of success. <br /> <br />There being no further discussion, the meeting was adjourned at 6:45 p.m, <br /> <br />Stephen M.
