Chief Auspos stated that they have been very good to work with. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember DeLuca and seconded by Councilmember Cich to approve a contract <br />with the Anoka County Humane Society for animal control services from June 1, 1989 through <br />May 30, 1990 for the amount of $5,481.45. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers DeLuca, Cich, Pearson and <br />Peterson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL INPUT <br /> <br />a) Request for Closing of Highway gl0 Entrance to Plants and Things: <br /> <br />Councilmember Peterson stated that there was recently a traffic accident on Highway #10 involving <br />a school bus. He recommends that a letter be sent to the State supporting a study of the feasibility <br />of closing the Highway #10 entrance to Plants and Things. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cich and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to send a letter to the <br />State of Minnesota Department of Transportation in support of a study of the feasibility of closing <br />the Highway #10 entrance to Plants and Things. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Cich, Pearson, Peterson and <br />DeLuca. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann asked where we are on the blacktoping of the parking lot at Plants and Things. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Banwart stated that we are having difficulty locating the CUP <br />file on this. <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann stated that this is very important and wants immediate action. <br /> <br />b) Appoint Alternate Member to Personnel Committee: <br />Councilmember Cich stated that at times the Mayor and himself have had conflicts in meeting times <br />for Personnel Committee meetings. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cich and seconded by Councilmember Peterson to appoint <br />Councilmember Peterson as alternate member of the Personnel Committee. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Cich and Peterson. Voting No: <br />Councilmembers Pearson and DeLuca. <br /> <br />c) Color of Water Tower: <br /> <br />Councilmember Cich asked what is the proposed color of the water tower. <br /> <br />City Engineer Raatikka stated that is will be light blue with black letters. The painting should start <br />within a week to ten days, inside and outside, weather permitting. <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann stated that he would be interested in touring the water tower. <br /> <br />d) Meeting on Thursday, May 11, 1989 with Developers and City Staff.' <br /> <br />Councilmember Peterson stated that there will be a meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 11, <br />1989 with developers and City Staff to review and follow-up on the meeting that was held in April. <br /> <br />City Administrator Hartley stated that the park dedication issue was one of their foremost concerns. <br /> <br />Regular City Council/May 9, 1989 <br /> Page 7 of 8 <br /> <br /> <br />
