a) Confmn Personnel Committee Meeting Date <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann and Councilmember Cich confkrned that the next meeting of the Personnel <br />Committee will be Thursday, June 22, 1989 at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />b) Recognition of Community Picnic Volunteers <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann recognized officers of the Lions Club and Picnic Committee, especially <br />Merle Mevissen, Jill Prall, Jack Kirchner, Leigh Lundberg, Jerry Hamlet and Chuck <br />Parker, for their hard work on the Community Picnic. <br /> <br />c) Anoka Electric Rate Programs <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann requested that City Staff obtain more information on Anoka Electric's rate <br />programs for commercial/industrial developments. <br /> <br />d) Access to Plants and Things From Hwy. #10 <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann requested that the City Administrator and City Attorney pursue Mn/DOT's <br />closing of the access from Plants and Things onto Hwy. #10. <br /> <br />e) Appointments to Fire Board <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann noted that there were two applicants for appointment to the Fire Board; <br />although both were equally qualified, Council selected David Bawden; Mr. Rustad has <br />requested a written explanation of why the applicant were not interviewed prior to making <br />the selection. Mayor Reimann stated that a written reply is not necessary; that he has <br />informed Mr. Rustad that Council was aware of the qualifications of both applicants and <br />made a decision. <br /> <br />Councilmember DeLuca stated that it might be possible for Mr. Rustad to serve on the Fire <br />Board as an ex-officio member. <br /> <br />f) Discussion regarding limiting service on commissions and committees <br /> <br />Councilmember Peterson noted that he has received inquiries regarding whether or not <br />persons are or should be limited to the number of commissions and committees they may <br />serve on. <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley stated that he would place discussion of multi-membership on the July 11 <br />Council agenda. <br /> <br />g) Elk River RDF Plant <br /> <br />Councilmember Cich stated that he has been contacted by concerned residents regarding the <br />Elk River RDF plant and requested that City Staff provide the following information: <br /> <br />1. When the RDF facility will be operational. <br /> <br />Has any consideration been given to formulating a base level of contaminants in the <br />water, soil and air for Ramsey? <br /> <br />City Council/June 13, 1989 <br />Page 9 of 10 <br /> <br /> <br />
