Staff will continue to update the EDA as new events <br />unfold in regards to the development and/or purchase of the property. <br /> <br />Redevelopment Study for the intersection of Highway #47 and 167th Avenue <br /> <br />On March 11, 2003, the City Council approved entering into a contract with McComb Group <br />Ltd. to complete a market analysis study for the retail node of Highway #47 and 167th Avenue. <br />The City Council did stipulate that reimbursable expenses be capped at $500, unless otherwise <br />approved by staff or the City Council. Staff met with Mr. McComb the week of March 3 i, 2003 <br />to discuss the next step in the process. <br /> <br />McComb group created a customer survey and customer spotting form that was implemented <br />into the business community the week of April 7th. They are hoping to have a majority of the <br />survey's back by early May and begin analyzing the data mid May. Staff anticipates receiving a <br />first draft of the study by the end of May or early June. <br /> <br />Panther Precision <br /> <br />The City Council approved the site plan for Panther Precision on March 25, 2003. The TIF <br />agreement should be signed within the next few months and they will begin construction <br />sometime in late spring or early summer. <br /> <br />Housing Committee <br /> <br />The minutes and agenda for the March Ramsey Housing Committee meeting are attached for <br />your review. <br /> <br />Annual Commissioner/Volunteer Appreciation Dinner <br /> <br />Please see the attached invitation to the annual commissioner appreciation dinner being held at <br />Majestic Oaks Country Club. Please make every effort to attend as the City Council would like <br />to show their appreciation for the time you put into serving on the EDA. <br /> <br />2003 Business Appreciation Day <br /> <br />The 2003 golf tournament and business appreciation day is set! Mark your calendar for Tuesday, <br />August 19, 2003 at the Links at Northfork. The contract and down payment was sent to the Links <br />the week of April 7, 2003. Staff will provide further information, as the event gets closer. <br /> <br />Business Occupancy Certificate <br /> <br />Community Development, Police, and the Fire department, have been working on creating a <br />Business Occupancy Certificate. The purpose of the certificate is to require all businesses in the <br />City of Ramsey to fill out an application with the City prior to beginning business in Ramsey. <br />The cost associate with the certificate will be $30.00 for existing businesses and any new <br />businesses. The certificate will be issued on a yearly basis and the renewal fee is proposed to be <br />$15. The certificate will allow the City to compile a comprehensive business list and obtain <br />information that will assist the fire and police departments from a public safety standpoint. <br />Attached is the case and proposed ordinance the City Council will be reviewing at their April 8, <br />2003 meeting. Staff will provide further updates regarding the outcome of the meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />
