DISCUSSION ON EDA MISSION: <br />By: James E. Norman, City Administrator <br />Sean Sullivan, TIF Specialist <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Last week the EDA chose not to seek additional funding to conduct EDA business. It is apparent that without <br />additional funding the EDA role in the future will be limited in economic development. Alternative future <br />funding sources, in addition to the levy options, were mentioned by members last meeting. It is important to <br />determine what purpose the EDA has, what impact the EDA chooses to have, and to determine how much <br />funding will be needed to accomplish the defined goals. If nothing further is done with the funding source for <br />the EDA, there is no question that the EDA will play a more limited role in development in the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />Staff will request discussion regarding the role and the direction the EDA in the future so that Staff can <br />understand and better serve the EDA. <br /> <br />EDA Action: <br /> <br />Based on discussion <br /> <br />EDA: 9.9.02 <br /> <br /> <br />
