Mayor Reimann requested that City Staff approach Federal Cartridge regarding the
possibility of the City leasing land to the east of Central Park for expanding parking lot
facilities.

Case #15:

Discussion Regarding Request To Mn/DOT For Safety
Improvement To Highway #47:

Mr. Hanley reviewed with City Council the plan prepared by City Engineer Raatikka and
Public Works Superintendent Mevissen for safety devices along Hwy.//47 which included
traffic signals, crosswalks and street lights.

When reviewing the intersection of 142nd Avenue and Hwy. #47, Councilmember DeLuca
suggested that Mn/DOT be encouraged to acquire additional right-of-way to construct a
sidewalk from 142nd to the proposed signalized intersection of Cty. Rd. #116 and Hwy.
#47.

Council was in agreement with the overall plan prepared by Mr. Raatikka and Mr.
Mevissen but recommended deleting traffic signals at 142nd and Hwy. #47 and Cty. Rd.
#5 and Hwy. #47.

City Engineer Raatikka was directed to obtain cost estimates for the street lighting
recommended in the plan as it will most likely be a City expense.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Councilmember Pearson and seconded by Councilmember DeLuca to adjourn
the regular City Council meeting.

Motion carried.
