c) Street Improvements At 156th Avenue N.W. and Hematite Street N.W. <br /> <br />Councilmember Pearson reported that he has received complaints regarding the level of <br />restoration that was performed on ditches and boulevards in conjunction with street <br />improvements at 156th Avenue and Hematite Street. Councilmember Pearson stated that he <br />and the City Engineer inspected the subject area and agreed that the restoration was <br />adequate. <br /> <br />Councilmember Peterson stated that with improvement projects there is the potential for <br />washouts where additional restoration is not planned for those areas of major soil <br />disruption. In the future, more than the normal restoration should be planned for major <br />areas of disruption with the cost of same being added into the project cost. Councilmember <br />Peterson also suggested that in the future residents be made aware of what restoration <br />refers to and includes. <br /> <br />d) Discussion Of Ribbon Cutting Ceremony And Lighting At The Water Tower <br /> <br />City Engineer Raatikka suggested, and Council agreed, that there be a ribbon cutting <br />ceremony at the City's new water tower. <br /> <br />Acting Mayor DeLuca requested that the City Engineer research ways to reduce the glare <br />from the lighting on the water tower. <br /> <br />e) Lighting At Central Park <br /> <br />City Council requested that they be provided with a report regarding installation of a timer <br />on the lights at Central Park at the next regular meeting. <br /> <br />f) Scheduling Of Personnel Committee Meeting <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley reported that a Personnel Committee meeting has been tentatively scheduled for <br />Monday, October 30, 1989 at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />g) Engineering Staff <br /> <br />Councilmember Peterson suggested that ads be drafted and published to hire an engineering <br />staff. <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley replied that discussion of an engineering staff will be placed on the October 30, <br />1989 Personnel Committee meeting agenda. <br /> <br />h) Strip Tease Ordinance <br /> <br />Councilmember Cich noted receipt of a memo from Police Chief Auspos requesting that <br />City Council give consideration as to whether or not they want to establish an ordinance <br />regulating strip tease entertainment. <br /> <br />Mr. Goodrich noted that the subject will be on the Council agenda for November 14, 1989. <br /> <br />City Council/October 24, 1989 <br /> Page 15 of 16 <br /> <br /> <br />
