the facade of the structure into compliance with the City Code. Mr. Coffin <br />stated that they would do that as soon as they could afford to. Mr. Coffin <br />stated that they are trying to clean up the property; the proposed building <br />would be used to store materials and parts. <br /> <br />Commissioner Zimmerman stated that he didn't feel that a pole building would <br />help in the City's efforts to clean up the commercial area along Highway 10. <br />The City is trying to improve the appearance of Highway 10, get rid of the junk <br />cars. Commissioner Shumway noted that he is not opposed to the use; he wants <br />to see the pole building conform to the City's requirements for the facade. <br /> <br />Commissioner Deemer commented that he was concerned that the building was not <br />structurally suitable for future office space. Mr. Coffin stated that he <br />wanted to have offices for orders, etc. Chairman Peterson noted that <br />commercial buildings have different structural requirements than storage <br />buildings. <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson noted that Mr. Coffin had several options; the Commission <br />could act on the request or the Coffins' could go back to Menard's and have the <br />plans revised for a commercial building with a facade that complies with City <br />Code. <br /> <br />The Coffins thanked the Commissiom for the information, stated that they wanted <br />to begin work on the building this year, but they also wanted to go back to <br />Menard's and have the plans revised or find another contractor to do the plans <br />properly. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Deemer and seconded by Commissioner Shumway to table the <br />Coffins' request until they bring in additional information regarding a <br />commercial structure and a facade that complies with City Code. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Chairman Peterson, Commissioners LaDue, <br />Hendriksen, Deemer, Zimmerman and Shumway. Voting no: None. Absent: <br />Commissioner Howell. <br /> <br />Case #2: Request for Site Plan Review; Case of Mr. Dennis Chubs.for Great <br /> <br />Mr. Dennis Chuba, The Chuba Company and Mr. Cliff Blouin, Great Plains Gas, <br />were present and reviewed their plans for the construction of a 26' x 40' <br />office/display building at 7411 Highway i0 N.W. <br /> <br />Motion by Commission Shumway and seconded by Commissioner Deemer to recommend <br />approval of Mr. Chuba's request for construction of an office/display <br />structure at 7411 Highway 10 N.W. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Chairman Peterson, Commissioners Shumway, <br />Zimmerman, Deemer, Hendriksen and LaDue. Voting no: None. Absent: <br />Commissioner Howell. <br /> <br />Case #3: Request for Site Plan Review; Case of Mr. Peter Chalich for <br /> Chalich Trucking.
