PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br />PUBLIC HEARING <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Planning and Zoning Commission conducted a public hearing on <br />Tuesday, July 8, 1986 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., <br />Ramsey, Minnesota regarding Mr. Ken Johnson's request for preliminary plat <br />approval. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mr. Kenneth Peterson, Chairman, (arrived 7:50 p.m.) <br />Mr. Ben Deemer <br />Mr. Gerald Zimmerman <br />Mr. Roy Shumway <br />Mr. Charles LaDue <br />Mr. Jim Howell <br />Mr. Terry Hendriksen <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Community Development Director Anne Norris <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Vice Chairman Zimmerman called the public hearing to order at 7:32 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Mr. Ken Johnson was present requesting preliminary plat approval of 20 acres <br />north of Autumn Heights; plat consists of 8 lots for single family residences <br />averaging 2.5 acres each. <br /> <br />Birdie Rotramel - 8435 167th Lane N.W. - Expressed concern with the additional <br />traffic that will be created by 8 more homes to an area with only one access; <br />also concerned with the additional amount of traffic that will have to travel <br />past her property. <br /> <br />Commissioner Zimmerman - Stated that not all developments have two accesses. <br /> <br />Orville Gotten - 16901 Armstrong Blvd. - Stated that he sold Mr. Johnson the 20 <br />acres last year and was of the understanding that Mr. Johnson was to use the <br />property as a private residence and not develop the land. Inquired about <br />density restrictions - 1 unit per 2-1/2, 5 or 10 acres? <br /> <br />Commissioner Zimmerman - Stated that land can be platted at 2-1/2 acres while <br />maintaining the 1 in 10 density. <br /> <br />Jeff Struvy - 8453 168th Lane N.W. - Stated that development of this 20 acres <br />will create a 3rd road running past his property; this will lower his property <br />value. Concerned that the 20 acre plat will drain onto his property. <br />Concerned with additional traffic created by the development and inquired if he <br />would be assessed for street maintenance on all 3 of the streets that pass by <br /> <br />PAGE 1 OF 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
