(Hwy. 7 and Hwy. 47); what happens when those accesses are tied up with funeral <br />processions. <br /> <br />Commission proceeded to amend the findings of fact as follows: <br /> <br /> Add: Item 5.f Residential lot sizes in the area are 2-1/2 acres <br /> minimum. <br /> <br />Commissioner Zimmerman inquired about the cemetery road and who will be <br />responsible for it. <br /> <br />Pastor Olson stated that City Council will be approached regarding the road <br />construction, maintenance and ownership. <br /> <br />Commissioner Shumway stated that he feels there are an adequate amount of <br />cemeteries in the area and is opposed to the City providing a road to a non- <br />denominational cemetery that will support Lutheran Church of America and Cross <br />of Hope parrish while cutting up residential property. <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson noted that the permit agreement makes no mention of the City <br />being imvolved in cemetery development in any way, shape or form; Cross of Hope <br />is going to request City assistance on the road aside from the conditional use <br />permit. <br /> <br />Pastor Olson stated that Cross of Hope became involved in this cemetery idea <br />when City Council appointed a cemetery subcommittee to explore the possibility <br />of a cemetery in Ramsey because of a lack of lots available in Anoka <br />cemeteries. Originally, there were a couple of alternatives discussed that <br />included City involvement in the cemetery but Council was not eager to pursue <br />them any further. From that point on, the cemetery became Cross of Hope's <br />project. <br /> <br />Mr. Sylvester stated that a conditional use permit to construct and operate a <br />cemetery is being requested independent of any city participation. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Howell and seconded by Commissioner Deemer to adopt the <br />findings of fact, as amended, relating to a request by the Cross of Hope <br />Lutheran Church and Mr. Bob Sylvester for a conditional use permit to establish <br />and operate a cemetery. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Peterson, Commissioners Howell, Deemer, <br />Zimmerman and Shumway. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners LaDue and <br />Hendriksen. <br /> <br />Commission proceeded to amend the proposed conditional use permit agreement in <br />the following ways: <br /> <br />Item #1 shall read as follows: 'Off-street parking shall be provided for <br />50 vehicles. This parking shall be provided to allow enough parking for <br />services and burials.' <br /> <br />Item #5 shall read as follows: 'That the applicant shall submit a <br />proposed sign design before the Planning and Zoning Commission for <br /> April 14, 1986 <br /> <br />Page 3 of 7 <br /> <br /> <br />
