January 21, 1986

TO: Planning and Zoning Commissioners

FROM: City Planner

RE: Comments received on proposed recodification of and
amendments to zoning ordinance

For the record of the public hearing scheduled for January 21,
1986, listed below are the comments I received regarding the
proposed rezonings in conjunction with the recodification of and
amendments to the City's zoning ordinance.

1. Ramsey Medical Center (PIN 24-32-25-31-0003) - wanted to be
sure that their zoning would remain B-1 General Business.

2. Mr. Martin Gotham (PIN 24-32-25-31-0001) - had no objection
to proposed rezoning of his property from the existing Urban
Multiple Business to the proposed Residential R-3 (see attached
letter).

3. Albin Peterson (PIN 24-32-25-43-0010) - would rather see
property along Highway 47 remain zoned Urban Multiple Business
rather than be rezoned to proposed Residential R-3. Mr. Peterson
would also like utilities extended to serve his property;
suggested that the City should develop a plan for extending
public utilities in the City or land in the City's urban area
won't be used to its best possible use. Mr. Peterson does not
feel that the proposed rezoning of his property along Highway 47
would accomplish anything; leave the parcel with the existing
zoning until some developer requests a change in the zoning.

4. Mrs. Dolly Fleischer (PIN 25-32-25-22-0003) - would like to
have existing zoning on property remain as it is (Urban Multiple
Business) rather than the proposed Residential R-3. Mrs.
Fleischer would also like to know the difference in taxes on her
property if it is rezoned as proposed. Mrs. Fleischer suggested
that her t~rcel be left with the existing zoning until there is
some interest in developing the property and rezone the property
at that time if it becomes necessary.

5. Mrs. Merle Anderson (6624 Rivlyn Avenue N.W.) - requested
that the Commission consider rezoning some of the property along
the Mississippi River that is currently zoned B-1 Business to
single family residential (R-1U).

Attach:
