Motion by Commissioner Bauer, seconded by Commissioner Van Scoy, to approve the following <br />minutes as presented: Planning Commission Meeting Minutes dated August 2, 2012. <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Levine, Commissioners Bauer, Van Scoy, Field, <br />Perez, and Schiller. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Brauer. <br />5. PUBLIC HEARINGS /COMMISSION BUSINESS <br />5.01: Public Hearing: Request for an Interim Use Permit to Allow for the Operation of a <br />Church in the B -1 Business District on the Property Located at 5900 167 Avenue <br />NW; Case of Rum River Retail Ventures, LLC <br />Public Hearing <br />Chairperson Levine called the public hearing to order at 7:01 p.m. <br />Presentation <br />Associate Planner /Environmental Coordinator Anderson presented the staff report indicating the <br />applicant was requesting an Interim Use Permit to allow for the operation of a church in the B -1, <br />Business District for the property at 5900 167 Avenue NW. The church is located in a multi - <br />tenant facility and utilizes the space for church offices, Sunday services and for other services <br />throughout the week. <br />Associate Planner /Environmental Coordinator Anderson explained there was an active IUP for <br />this use on the subject property that will expire on October 3, 2012. The existing use triggered <br />the requirement for the installation of a fire suppression system. The system is essentially <br />complete and Staff recommends approving the IUP for a term of five (5) years, contingent upon <br />the completion of the fire suppression system. <br />Chairperson Levine supported the request. <br />Citizen Input <br />None. <br />Motion by Commissioner Bauer, seconded by Commissioner Schiller, to close the public <br />hearing. <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Levine, Commissioners Bauer, Schiller, Brauer, <br />Field, Perez, and Van Scoy. Voting No: None.
