There is a lack of local awareness of the businesses located in and out of the City. T,here are few <br />major employers in Ramsey. Solutions to these problems would be the promotion of Ramsey <br />through the Star City Program and a Business Expo of the local businesses. <br /> <br />The City needs to have its own identification. It lacks a post office and zip code, and there are no <br />driver destination signs designating Ramsey. The City needs to improve its image and it could do <br />that through publicity. The City needs to be more active and aggressive with the media. <br /> <br />GOALS <br /> <br />The following Goals for the City of Ramsey are derived by an understanding of the weaknesses <br />and strengths of the City. This understanding provides the basis for general economic goals of <br />the Ramsey Star City Program. <br /> <br />2. <br />3. <br />4. <br />5. <br />6. <br />7. <br /> <br />Attract high quality business <br />Increase tax base <br />Increase incentives <br />Eliminate blight and upgrade current developments <br />Increase image and business and developer awareness <br />Promote the development and use of industrial land <br />Obtain Ramsey mailing address, zip code and post office <br /> <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE <br /> <br />The means to carry out the Economic Development plans for the City of Ramsey will require the <br />efforts and support of many individuals and organizations. Primary organizations include: <br />Economic Development Commission, the City, and the Economic Development Company are listed <br />below. <br /> <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION <br /> <br />The Commission was established by ordinance the 26th day of January 1982.
