The City is dedicated to maintaining a quality environment throughout the community. This
effort is managed by the only certified Make America Beautiful System in the Stat~: Make the
Scene. Keep Ramsey Clean Committee. This dedication to the environment is shown by the City's
recycling program, disease tree control, new standards for surtace water runnofL and constant
review of policies relating to the environment.

The City is constantly expanding their parks through City Ordinance #83-13. The ordinance
states that developers or sub-dividers are to dedicate a percentage of the land for the use of
parks or money valued at the cost of the land for park development.
There is a considerable amount of available land in the City to accommodate new business and
industry. As well as quality residential development. The City's development plan will show
adequate space for such expansion. Over 1,225 acres are available for commercial and
industrial development.

Forces against development are diminishing and a pro-growth altitude has been adopted in its
place. Ramsey is in the process of promoting the City as an optimal place for a variety of
development. This pro development concept is fully supported by the City Council.

LIABILITIES

TRANSPORTATION

CITY GOVERNMENT

1, Need for additional service roads 1.
along Highway #10
No Mississippi River crossings
Airport
Compatibility with adjacent uses
4. There is a need for stronger enforcement of the ordinances. Highway #10 is a
problem with few frontage roads and its appearance is unattractive. The City needs to revise the
zoning ordinances ¢.nd adopt different standards for development along Highway #10. Currently
there is a Highway #10 Corridor Study, and a Mississippi River Crossing Study being conducted
for the improvement of access to the businesses located in Ramsey.
