FIRE <br />RELIEF <br /> <br />RAMSEY <br />DEPARTMENT <br /> <br />ASSOCIATION BY-LAWS <br /> <br />ARTICLE I, BOARD OF TRUSTEES. <br /> <br />SECTION 1, BOARD OF TRUSTEES. <br /> <br />The Board of Trustees of the Ramsey Fire Department Relief Association, Anoka County, <br />Minnesota shall be composed of a President, a Vice President, a Secretary, a Treasurer, <br />and two general trustees. In addition, the statutory ex officio members, the Chief of the <br />Ramsey Fire Department, the Mayor, the City Administrator, and the Ramsey Finance <br />Officer. <br /> <br />SECTION 2, ELECTION. <br /> <br />There shall be an annual meeting of the members of the Ramsey Fire Department Relief <br />Association, Inc. on the third Thursday in January for the election of administrators. At all <br />such meetings of the association, each member of the relief association shall be entitled to <br />vote, and the 51% majority of the votes cast shall be required to elect any administrator of <br />the association. Elections of trustees as follows: <br /> <br />Two general u-ustees shall be elected for a three year term. Nomination and voting will be <br />on one position. In the event that more than two nominations are made in one position, the <br />two nominees receiving the most votes shall enter a run-off election; the nominee receiving <br />51% of the votes cast being the winner. In the event of a tie vote, an additional run-off <br />election shall be held; the one with 51% of the votes cast being determined the winner. <br />Thereafter the trustees shall elect their own officers; President, Vice President, Secretary, <br />and Treasurer. If a vacancy (other than a vacancy caused by removal for cause on an <br />officer or trustee) occurs during the term of office of any officer or general trustee, the <br />remaining members of the board of trustees shall elect a member of the association to serve <br />for the unexpired term of the vacated position. <br /> <br />SECTION 3, REMOVAL FROM OFFICE. <br /> <br />A general trustee or officer may be removed for cause. Cause for removal shall include, <br />but shall not be limited to, the breach of the duties as set forth in Articles II and III of these <br />bylaws, One or more of the trustees or officers ma), be removed at a meeting of the <br />membership which is called for the purpose by a majority of those present and voting at <br />such meeting. No officer or general trustee shall be removed unless prior notice of at least <br />5 days before the meeting at which removal is to be considered states such purpose. When <br />an officer or general trustee has been removed, new offices or general trustees shall be <br />elected at the same meeting to serve until the next annual meeting of the members, and until <br />their successors have been elected and have qualified. <br /> <br />SECTION 4, COMPENSATION. <br /> <br />Trustees as such shall receive no compensation for their services, the President, Secretary, <br />and Treasurer may be paid such compensation as the members of the association ma3' <br />establish at the annual or an3, special meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />
