VOLUNTEER <br /> <br />FIREFIGHTER'S RELIEF <br /> <br /> BY-LAWS <br /> <br /> contribution <br /> <br />ASSOCIATION <br /> <br />SECTION 1. BOARD OF TRUSTEES <br /> <br />The Board of Trustees shall consist of six members elected by the membership and <br />three ex officio members consisting of the Fire Department Chief, Mayor and City <br />Finance Director. One of the elected Board members shall be a pensioner elected by <br />the full membership. In the event no pensioner is available for said Board position, the <br />position shall be filled by an active firefighter Association member. <br /> <br />Two Board members shall be elected for three year terms at each annual meeting of the <br />Association. A vacancy on the Board may be filled by the remaining Board members at <br />any regular or special Board meeting but the Board members so selected shall hold <br />office only until the next special or annual meeting of the Association membership when <br />the successor shall be elected by the membership. <br /> <br />Officers of the Association shall be a President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer <br />elected by the Board for terms coinciding with their term of office as a trustee. In the <br />event of failure to perform or inefficiency in the performance of assigned duties, an <br />officer of the Association may be removed at any time by a two-thirds vote of the Board <br />and a Board member may be removed at any time by a two-thirds vote of the <br />Association membership at a regular or special meeting. <br /> <br />As compensation for services to the Association by the President, Secretary and <br />Treasurer, the membership may at the Annual Association Meeting authorize payment <br />of an aggregate salary expense payable from the Special Fund to those officers. The <br />Board shall then apportion that aggregate authorized amount to reflect the services <br />respectively rendered by those officers during the prior year. All other Board members <br />shall receive a nominal fixed payment from the General Fund for each Board meeting <br />attended.
