MAYOR AND COUNCIL INPUT <br /> <br />a) After hours phone access at City Hall <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann stated that there should be access to City Hall personnel by phone after <br />hours. For various valid reasons, there are times when staff and persons in attendance at <br />City meetings need to be accessible by phone. <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley stated that he would research a solution to Mayor Reimann's concern. <br /> <br />b) Library signage <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann directed Mr. Hartley to write a letter to Gary Young of the County Library <br />System and suggest that the graphics used in library signing be revised to more clearly <br />indicate same; the sign should also note the library facility as a 'learning experience'. <br /> <br />c) Cigarette sales <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann directed City Attorney Goodrich to draft an ordinance prohibiting minors <br />from purchasing cigarettes and imposing a penalty for same. <br /> <br />d) 1990 Goals <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann requested that City Council begin giving some thought to proposed goals <br />for 1990. <br /> <br />e) Inauguration of National Sports Center in Blaine <br /> <br />Councilmember DeLuca stated that in the interest of improving relations between northern <br />communities, Ramsey should participate in the inauguration of the National Sports Center <br />in Blaine. The cost to participate involves a $250 sponsorship fee and entitles 10 <br />representatives from Ramsey to attend the inauguration luncheon. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cich and seconded by Councilmember DeLuca to approve an <br />expenditure of $250 for sponsorship in the National Sports Center inauguration event. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: A discussion ensued regarding which 10 persons from Ramsey <br />should attend the inauguration; suggested persons were City Council, Mark Banwart, <br />David Hartley, Bruce Hoeke, EDC Chairman Ken Wagner, representative of Park and <br />Recreation Commission, Jerry Hamlet. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers DeLuca, Pearson, Cich <br />and Peterson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Cieh to adjourn the <br />special City Council meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
