certain things will be handled and those policies supercede the chosen rules or guidelines. <br /> <br />Commissioner Deemer stated that Don Sikkink of St. Cloud University made an excellent <br />presentation. Commissioner Deemer stated that if this Commission is not operating by a <br />set of rules, a set should be adopted or drafted. <br /> <br />Mark Banwart suggested that a workshop be scheduled to draft a set of rules and resolve <br />how issues will be handled. <br /> <br />David Hartley encouraged the Commission to follow-up on Mark Banwart's suggestion for <br />a workshop. <br /> <br />Commissioner Hendriksen stated that in general, some positive things have been happening <br />and the earlier discussion regarding amendments to su'eet width right-of-way requirements <br />should not create an adversary role with City Staff because they do a good job and <br />adversary roles stifle productivity. Commissioner Hendriksen stated that he also disagrees <br />with the statement made earlier this evening regarding the Commission's obligation to <br />represent the public's opinion. Commissioner Hendriksen stated that the Commission is <br />obligated to represent the laws on the books and it is the public input that goes into the <br />making of those laws. <br /> <br />Chairman Zimmerman stated that he feels the Commission is of no worth if it doesn't <br />communicate the public opinion to City Council. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner LaDue and seconded by Commissioner Hendriksen to adjourn <br />the regular meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Zimmerman, Commissioners Hendriksen, LaDue, <br />Deemer and Shumway. Voting No: None.
