PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION
CITY OF RAMSEY
ANOKA COUNTY
STATE OF MINNESOTA

The Ramsey Park and Recreation Commission conducted a regular meeting on Wednesday
September 12, 1990 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W.,
Ramsey, Minnesota.

Members Present:

Ms. Cynthia Roselle
Ms. Jill Prall
Ms. Janice Johnson
Mr. Bill Rustad

Also Present:

Mr. Merland Otto / Hakanson Anderson
Mr. Merle Mevissen / Public Works Supervisor
Mr. Mark Boos / Parks and Utilities Coordinator

Members Absent:

Mr. Ron Hetland
Mr. Donald Lokker
Mr. Jay Swokowski

CALL TO ORDER

Vice-Chairperson Roselle called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.

CITIZEN INPVT

John Good, 4781 - 154th Lane N.W., told the Commission that he attended the last Park
Bond Committee meeting and at that meeting there was a lot of discussion regarding the
possible support of a Park Bond issue. Mr. Good feels that if the citizens are shown how
they will benefit from a bond issue they would be in support of it. One suggestion was to
put ballfields into neighborhood parks which would benefit both the residents and the
RYAA.

Vice-Chairperson Roselle asked for Mr. Good's views on the overall park trail system
being designed by the City Council and Park Commission.

Mr. Good stated that the idea of a paved bike trail appeals to him, however, people may be
apprehensive about allowing their children to bike a long distance to get to a park.

APPROVAL OF AGENDS

Motion by Commissioner Prall and seconded by Commissioner Johnson to approve the
agenda with the following addition:

Case #5

Ramsey Ranger Saddle Club.

Motion carried.
