He also explained that Anoka County will no longer license the
stand until some major improvements have been made. The Commission has to decide on
an amount they would be willing to spend on upgrading the stand. One alternative would be
to purchase a mobile stand lhat could also be used at other parks.

Bev Swanson, President of RYAA, explained that in the past the concession was staffed by
volunteers, however, last year the stand was not opened due to the fact that they had no
volunteers.

Vice-Chairperson Roselle asked if the RYAA sports program was effected by not having a
concession stand.

Ms. Swanson told the Commission that it did not really effect RYAA programs but she
suggested that some kind of stand would be needed if there were to be tournaments held in
Ramsey.

Commissioner Pratl suggested that i! the City is going to have a concession stand that it
should be a mobile one.

Vice-Chairperson Roselle asked that Commission to remember that if they do purchase a
stand they have to find someone to run it.

PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION / SEPTEMBER 12, 1990
PAGE 2 OF 4
