2.3 Tree Prunings

In the tipping area a separate area will be provided in which W~I
will also accept tree prunings at a nominal charge. Upon the
accumulation of a cost effective quantity of tree prunings WMMI
will provide a wood chipper and chip the tree prunings. The
resulting chips will be used for providing a working surface on the
composting and tipping areas or made available to the public for
use as landscaping material. Excess wood chips will be
incorporated into compost piles where they will naturally decompose
as a form of compost.

2.4 Construction

Site construction will consist of grading to provide proper
drainage, perimeter and site access roads, berming and fencing.

Grading of the facility will be completed so that all surface water
runoff originating from the compost facility will be diverted to
existing low areas within the facility boundary. The natural low
areas are large enough to accommodate spring runoff. Surface water
will be diverted to the low areas through the use of perimeter
berms, roadway ditches and site grading. Since the majority of
site will be at a 1-2% slope and given the sandy nature of the
soils in the area little runoff due to normal rainfall events is
anticipated. The spring snowfall melt is the time period when
surface water may be significant. The existing low areas are large
enough to accommodate the spring snow melt.

Perimeter and site access roads will be constructed slightly
elevated to contain and provide drainageways for surface water.
A perimeter road will go completely around the facility and some
permanent roads will be constructed on the interior of the facility
to provide additional access.

Along the east side of the compost site there is currently a small
low area that would allow the viewing of the compost operation by
the public from Sunfish Lake Boulevard. While the compost facility
should not be displeasing to the sight WMMI believes that it is in
the best interests of the project to provide a soil berm in this
area to screen the facility from Sunfish Lake Boulevard.

To provide security for the facility all areas that are currently
not fenced will be done so to completely enclose the compost
facility. Fencing will consist of 4" by 2" welded wire fence as
is currently used around the landfill.

5
