Chairman Zimmerman stated that thc subject lot went tax forfeit and thc County now owns thc
parcel.

Joe Schaefbauer - Stated that he is opposed to the development of the receiver on the proposed site.

Police Chief Michael Auspos - Stated that he is in favor of the proposal because the police
department has had instances where they were unable to communicate with Central
Communications with portable radios and it is not always possible to return to the squad car to get
effective communication when the police are on a call. Chief Auspos stated that the improved
communications are needed and a 50 foot telephone pole is unobtrusive.

Fire Chief Bruce Hoekc - Confirmed that an additional radio receiver site is needed in the subject
area and if the proposed site is not approved, an alternate site will have to be located nearby.

Dawn Hetrick - 8645 168th Avenue N.W. - Stated that the members of the police and fire
departments do not live in the area and will not have to look at the pole. In addition, there is a lot
of wildlife on the subject property that will be disturbed.

Sharon Besik - 8615 168th Avenue N.W. - Inquired if consideration could be given to siting the
pole on park property across the street.

Douglas Carlson - 8642 168th Avenue N.W. - Stated that there has to be a better location for the
receiver site that is not so heavily wooded.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Commissioner Deemer and seconded by Commissioner LaDue to adjourn the public
hearing.

Motion carried.
