Perkins stated that he would go so far as to hire an attorney to prove that <br />boats are not defacing the rivc~ and shoreline. <br /> <br />Mike Hadtrath - 14693 Wa¢o - Stated that he was one of the first residents <br />in River's Bend; he uses the river for fishing; he has a 25 horsepower boat <br />motor; a higher horsepower is needed to move a boat up and down the river; <br />the only shoreline damage he has noticed is when there is flooding; be has <br />never had a problem with wakes created by boat traffic. <br /> <br />Larry Koshak - 4869 l~2nd Lane - Stated that he has lived on his river lot <br />for 3 years and presented pictures indicating the erosion to his riverbank. <br />Mr. Koshak stated that he haa lost approximately 3 feet of riverbank in 3 <br />year~ the wake from boats is adding to the problem. Mr. Kosbak stated <br />that he and his wife are in favor of an ordinance to control the wake and <br />not necessarily by boat motor size; they do think the wake condition should <br />be imposed in unprotected areas o~ the river. Mr. Koshak noted that there <br />is quite a bit of water skiJng activity in his particular a~'ea of the <br />river; the skiiers do not have much regard for safety and are causing <br />dangerous situations. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Sorteberg and seconded by Councitmember Bawden to <br />adjourn the public hearing. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, <br />DeLuca, Pearson and Bawden.
