CHAPTER 110.07 HORSES <br /> <br />110.071 HORSE DEFINED <br /> <br />As used in this chapter, horse shall mean any stallion, mare, <br /> <br />gelding, foal, pony, donkey, ass, burro, mule or animal of horse <br /> <br />kind. <br /> <br />110.072 ACREAGE REQUIREMENTS <br /> <br />The following chart prescribes the number of horses that <br />can be maintained on the lot sizes as shown: <br /> <br />Maximum Number of Horses <br /> <br />Acreage Minimum <br /> <br />Four <br />5 or more <br /> <br />2.5 acres <br />2.6 acres <br />5 acres and larger of <br />which at least 2.5 <br />acres shall consist <br />of an enclosed area <br />available for use in <br />which horses are able <br />t o roam <br /> <br />2. Horse(s) shall be provided adequate shelter. <br /> <br />Fences for pens, corrals.or similar enclosures must be <br />of sufficient height and strength to retain such <br />animals. Extra care must be taken to insure that <br />stallions are properly enclosed. <br /> <br />110.073 RODENT AND INSECT CONTROL <br /> <br />Manure shall be handled or treated in such a manner as <br />not to create a public nuisance ~ich shall mean at a <br />minimum that manure will be properly disposed of weekly <br />when the number of horses on any one parcel exceeds one <br />horse per 1/2 acre of enclosed roaming area. <br /> <br />Corrals, pens, stables or similar enclosures shall be <br />maintained in a manner to minimize f!v breeding. '~ <br /> <br />No person shall leave accumulations of horse manure on <br />any street, sidewalk or alley, nor__upon-.any._area or.lot <br />_in. any portion of the city. <br /> <br /> <br />
