2)

SECTION II. FACILITY OPERATION

Describe the facility's operation, including how the
tires will be collected, stored, and processed:

Receipt of tires from both individuals and commercial
haulers will be monitored at the landfill office/scale.
Prior to processing, the tires will be placed in a
staging area on the ground adjacent to the shredder.
Site personnel will direct in-coming tire haulers to the
proper unloading location.

Metal wheels will be removed from tires prior to the
tires being loaded onto the in-feed conveyor of the
shredder. Extracted wheels will be placed in a nearby
rolloff box.

Tires will be loaded onto the in-feed conveyor either
manually or with a front end loader depending on the
number of tires being processed. The capacity of the
shredder will be 1,200 car tires/hour or 300 oversized
tires/hour.

The shredder tire product will then be either loaded
directly into a 20 ton capacity truck or temporarily
stored on the ground in an area approximately apparently
500 square feet in size.

A rubber tired front end loader will be used to load the
product being temporarily stored into transport trucks as
they arrive.

Indicate the quantities of waste tires and tire-derived
products stored at the facility, and the total area in
square feet used for the storage of waste tires and tire-
derived products:

passenger car
tires

oversized

Current Storage Area Maximum
Storage in ft.2 Storage

None 8,500 67,000 tires
None 1,000 3,000 tires

88W5-15
