Co~issioner Shu~way noted that the acquifer reaches Rum Acres Estates <br />before it reaches the City well; assume the pumping of water for Juniper <br />Woods will not affect the water table in Rum Acre Estates. <br /> <br />Tom Patchen - Stated he was involved when the first City well was developed <br />and confirmed that at that time, Tom Rennet stated that pumping to any <br />great extent will draw down the water table. <br /> <br />Janet Houle - 15230 Salish Street - Inquired why the City is considering <br />allowing a high density development adjacent to a subdivision of one acre <br />lots and possibly creating problems. Stated that waiting until River's <br />Bend is completely developed is a more timely and orderly fashion for <br />extending sewer and water. <br /> <br />Chairman Zinm~rman replied that in Ramsey's Comprehensive Plan, which was <br />approved by Metro Council, this area was sited for municipal sewer and <br />water. Chairman Zimmerman also noted that most of River's Bend is <br />developed and that indicates the market can absorb some more lots served by <br />city sewer and water. <br /> <br />Janet Houle - Stated that City Council has stated they want to avoid <br />hopscotch development and now the City is considering high density <br />develoDment adjacent to rural develot~nent. <br /> <br />Chairman Zimmerman stated that the City policy is to not extend sewer and <br />water into any existing subdivision unless 100% of the residents are in <br />favor of the improvements. <br /> <br />Janet Houle - Noted that in the case of Juniper Woods, the developer is <br />100% of the property c~ners and there doesn't seem to be any regard for the <br />fact that 3 homes will n~ abut her backyard. <br /> <br />Chairman Zimmerman suggested that Ms. Houle submit her questions and <br />comments to City Council. <br /> <br />Richard Dudziak - 15150 Juniper Ridge Drive - Inquired if there will be a <br />homeowners covenants for Juniper Woods. <br /> <br />Mr. Knutson - Replied that the develot~nent will be similar to River's Bend. <br />The lots will be priced in the $20,000-$30,000 range. <br /> <br />Don Jazdzewski - Stated that he would like to go on record as be_ing opposed <br />to the development of Juniper Woods because it conflicts with all the <br />reasons he moved to Ramsey for. <br /> <br />T~m Whisenhunt -15031 Juniper Ridge Drive - Inquired if Juniper Woods <br />would definitely be developed with municipal seN, ices and inquired if any <br />studies will be done. <br /> <br />~nairman Zimmerman replied that the development would be developed with <br />municipal services; he is not aware of any studies being done on the <br />development. <br /> <br />Jean Schlueter - Inquired if the City will do any study on the impact an <br />area served by m~nicipal water will have on adjacent private wells. <br />Lnquired about t_he ~ ~_r<.~ on private wells in FILnt~cod I when ii and iii <br /> Planning & Zoning .Public Hearing/April 5, 1988 <br /> <br />Page 3 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
