5. Description o{ Request - The applicant requests that the site be
used for an aluminum processing plant as described in the following
operational plan.

OPERATIONAL PLAN

The applicant is requesting a permit to install the equipment
necessary to process aluminum. The feed stock will be brought to
the plant in semi-trucks and delivered to one end of the building.
That feed stock includes scrap from industrial locations, aluminum
pickings from landfills, and the aluminum parts from automobile
transmissions and engines.

The feed stock is then transferred to the melt furnace, which melts
off the aluminum separating it from other metsl components. The
aluminum is then poured into casting machines for manufactured parts
on a subcontract basis, or into thousand pourd ingots. Those
manufactured parts and ingots are then moved to the storage area for
cooling. After cooling they will be shipped out of the plant in
semi-trucks.

The residue from the furnace that has not been melted of~ iE then
run through an electro magnetic crane where the steel end iron is
separated. The remaining residue will then be put through a
separator, conveyed on an enclosed conveyer to a cement block
storage building approximately 10' X 20'. The remainder will be
shipped of{ site ~or ~urther processing.

The equipment to be used in the building includes forklifts, end a
melt furnace. The structure of that melt ~urnace and the air
emiston control equipment is explained in the engineer'~ report
attached to this permit request.

The equipment to be used outside is the electro-magnetic crane.

2
