Councilmember Strommen stated her concern is with having them on the road at all and mixing <br />with the traffic. <br />Mayor Ramsey stated he is not in favor of limiting riding. <br />City Administrator Ulrich stated staff can create an ordinance that would be by permit only — <br />individual. <br />Mayor Ramsey suggested checking with the DNR to be sure we would have to do that. <br />Chief Way stated that it says every three years and he understands it to be individually. <br />Mayor Ramsey stated that the DNR Commissioner told him that Chief Way could issue the <br />permit and it could be a blanket permit to cover the entire City. He added he would prefer that <br />because he did not want to create more staff work. <br />Mr. Ulrich suggested we could start out broad and add more restrictions to The COR. <br />Councilmember Tossey noted he was talking about business districts. <br />Mayor Ramsey stated that between Jim Way and Kurt Ulrich, they should draft something and <br />present it to Council and they will "pick it apart". <br />Chief Way suggested we will talk about equipment, e.g. seat belts, windshield wipers, etc. <br />Mayor Ramsey stated he hoped we can use common sense. <br />Chief Way stated he will put some work into it and look at other ordinances from other cities <br />within the next month or so. <br />Mayor Ramsey asked that Chief Way do it as soon as he can. <br />3.
