1,~,.: ,...,_. ...... ,O,~< ~c'""~L~$HMENT O~- CDI/.; '"' <br /> <br />A city planning con,mission for the Ci',y <br /> <br />Co <br /> <br />COMPOSITION <br />The planning commission shall consist of seven voting members who shall be appointed by' <br />the Cily Council and may be removed by a four-fifths vote of the council. The members <br />shall be appointed for terms of four years. All appointees shall hold lheir offices until <br />their successors are appointed and qualified. Vacancies during the term shall be filled by <br />the City Council for the unexpired portion of the term. Ever)' member shall, before <br />entering upon the discharge of his duties, take an oath that he will faithfully discharge the <br />duties of that office. All members shall serve without compensation. Commission members <br />may be reimbursed for their necessary expenses incurred as a result of being a commission <br />member. Members shall be residents of the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />ORGANIZATIONS, MEETINGS, ETC. <br />The Commission shall elect a chairman from among its appointed members for a term of one <br />year; and the Commission may create and fill such other offices as it may determine. The <br />Commission shall hold at least one regular meeting each monfh. It shall follow Robert's <br />Rules of Order Revised, 2nd Edition, for the transaction of business and shall keep a record <br />of its resolutions, transactions, and findings, which record shall be a public record. Said <br />record shall be transmitted to the City Council on a monthly basis. On or before January 1 <br />of each year, the Commission shall submit to the City Council a report of its work during? <br />the preceding year. Expenditures of the Commission shall be within amounts appropriated <br />for that purpose by the City Council. <br /> <br />POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE COMMISSION <br />The Planning Commission is an advisory board to the City Council and shall exercise duties <br />conferred upon it by this chapter as well as any other duties which may from time to time <br />be referred by the City Council. In addition, the Planning Commission shall serve as the <br />planning agency and shall have the powers and duties given such agencies by M.S.A. <br />462.351 - 462.364. <br /> <br /> <br />
