1,~,.: ,...,_. ...... ,O,~< ~c'""~L~$HMENT O~- CDI/.; '"' A city planning con,mission for the Ci',y Co COMPOSITION The planning commission shall consist of seven voting members who shall be appointed by' the Cily Council and may be removed by a four-fifths vote of the council. The members shall be appointed for terms of four years. All appointees shall hold lheir offices until their successors are appointed and qualified. Vacancies during the term shall be filled by the City Council for the unexpired portion of the term. Ever)' member shall, before entering upon the discharge of his duties, take an oath that he will faithfully discharge the duties of that office. All members shall serve without compensation. Commission members may be reimbursed for their necessary expenses incurred as a result of being a commission member. Members shall be residents of the City of Ramsey. ORGANIZATIONS, MEETINGS, ETC. The Commission shall elect a chairman from among its appointed members for a term of one year; and the Commission may create and fill such other offices as it may determine. The Commission shall hold at least one regular meeting each monfh. It shall follow Robert's Rules of Order Revised, 2nd Edition, for the transaction of business and shall keep a record of its resolutions, transactions, and findings, which record shall be a public record. Said record shall be transmitted to the City Council on a monthly basis. On or before January 1 of each year, the Commission shall submit to the City Council a report of its work during? the preceding year. Expenditures of the Commission shall be within amounts appropriated for that purpose by the City Council. POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE COMMISSION The Planning Commission is an advisory board to the City Council and shall exercise duties conferred upon it by this chapter as well as any other duties which may from time to time be referred by the City Council. In addition, the Planning Commission shall serve as the planning agency and shall have the powers and duties given such agencies by M.S.A. 462.351 - 462.364.
